I'm Outtie!

Does anyone have a vodka handy?

The oddest thing just happened today.

I mean, really bizarre. I think I can honestly say that this has NEVER happened to me before. And it will likely never happen again.

I went to do a load of laundry. And........

I. didn't. have. enough. dirty. clothes.

I couldn't start up the washer, because there wasn't enough dirty laundry left in my house to warrant it.

I think I need to lie down. This is rather earth-shattering.
La la la. Ah la la la. Hubby's coming home to-day. Ah la la la. La la la.

Tonight, actually. Fairly late. Whatever. It's not like I sleep anymore.

I'm a little behind with my laundry and cleaning, due to yesterday's power outage. For the amount they are billing my for electricity, I darn well expect to get electricity! Idiots.

So, I will be spending today cleaning. And doing laundry. And yelling at the kids to stop fighting. And trying to pack camping gear for the road trip. And ignoring all the spiders (because they'll be HIS problem now! Ha!). And returning movies to Blockbuster and cooking a ham and getting gas and paying the heating bill and.............Calgon...take me away!

Whatever. It's no more than usual. I'm just a bit more excited.

So.....ya. I'll see ya'll around. Really. I will.

I was without power all day today. Again. And there wasn't even a storm. Not a cloud in the sky. Jerks. I'll be back with my morning coffee.

Are they KIDDING?

In my kitchen. My KITCHEN!

This is war.

Good Monday Morning, everyone.

I'm having a slight panic day (ok, fine, week). There's just been a lot more in the news lately regarding Afghanistan and my husband's new job and all that. And, while he is currently in a place no more dangerous than Boy Scout Summer Camp, I'm in a place (mentally) where I can't stop imagining the future. Stupid future.

It's not a big deal. I'll be fine. I just need to let myself panic every once in a while. It's like releasing steam. And he'll be home on Thursday. Where I can keep some tabs on him.

And, since I barely slept at all last night (which was less boring due to the dashing company of Indiana Jones on DVD), I am going to spend the morning drinking coffee and playing around with some Doodles.

I'll be more interesting later on today, probably.

Word Verifications I Want to See

I don't know about the rest of ya'll, but I'm starting to think I need a Mensa membership just to figure out some of these word verifications that Blogger uses. Who sits around and makes these up, anyway? This is someone's job?

Friend of a Friend Friday : Season Finale

Maybe ya'll should go get your hankies before reading this. You might get a little teary eyed. Afterall, this will be the LAST Friend of a Friend Friday until at least September.

Next Friday is my anniversary. And while I can't think of a better way to celebrate my five years married to my husband, who returns home from more than a month away just the day before, by spending it on the computer with ya'll....well. I have better things to do.

I'm taking the minivan in for a wheel alignment and oil change.

Well, what did you THINK I meant? Dirty birds.

Then, assuming hubby can get leave (please, Army, please please please let him have his leave) for the 14th, we are OFF and driving to Edmonton. There is a possibility that they won't give him leave until the 16th, and we still need to be in Edmonton by the 18th, so it should be an interesting drive. FORTUNATELY, my favorite-ist in-law, Auntie Louise, got portable dvd players for each of the brats. Yay!

So, while I am still around for a few days, this will be my last Friend of a Friend Friday until September. So, enjoy the blogs I list. I know. They're not me. But they are recommended by me, so what could be better than that? Besides me, of course. Ok, here. Stop sniffling. I'll be back. Go visit them.

Two Gnomes
Creative Little Daisy
Lotte's Sketchbook

And don't forget the thumbnail on the sidebar. AND since this will have to hold ya'll for a while, feel free to recommend a friend blog of your own.

ALSO.....fellow Canadian, crocheter and Lover of Mr. Horton's coffee, Jana of Stitch-o-rama, has decided to stop blogging. Not visiting, just blogging. And, while I am sad about it, I understand. So, go give her a big blogger group hug!

And, just for kicks, go HERE, too.

Call Me Mrs. Scrooge

What do sane and normal people do when they need to scrimp and save and scrounge every quarter stuck between the couch cushions?

What do rational people who are on a budget do? People who are about to go on a 3 week road trip with their kids and want as much saved money as possible for the most fun possible?

Ya. I don't know either.

I just bought my husband concert tickets for an anniversary present.

His fav band, The Dropkick Murphy's, are playing in Ottawa with Bad Religion. I don't particularily care about music or concerts, but he likes when I go with him. We went to one concert in Boston a couple of St.Patrick's days ago and it WAS a lot of fun.

But that's IT. That's our anniversary date. No dinner. No snacks. No slushie at the corner store.

I'm such a sucker.

Due to the +48°C temperature here (that's about 118°F for the Americans), and the extremely high humidity, I am currently existing in the form of a liquid. I am a puddle. As you can imagine, being a liquid makes it exceedingly difficult to type. What with the keyboard being a solid. It's all very scientific. I believe the risk of electrocution is greater, as well.

Also. More storms. Big, fat, juicy thunderstorms. Which in a more normal part of the world would bring relief from the heat. But not here. It just makes it hotter. And increases the risk of electrocution. Assuming of course that we don't lose power all together.

So, I am turning off my computer. No, not standby. Off. Stop gasping. It happens sometimes. I'll be OK. I went to the library and got some books and movies.

I'll be back. When I regain the solidity of my limbs again.
